If you’re arriving at Incheon Airport and have a lot of luggage, or you’re traveling with a group of people, you may find that a taxi is actually cheaper.
In this article, we’ll cover the types of taxis in Korea, how much they cost, and how to catch a taxi.
I’ll share how to catch a taxi from Incheon Airport to Seoul and how much it costs at the end.
Types of taxis In Korea
There are couple of taxis. but I’ll share you three types of taxis here.
Standard Taxi
There are two basic types of taxis. One is orange and the other is silver. The only difference is that one is operated by a company and the other by a private individual, so you can use them the same.
Electric Taxi(Standard Taxi)
It is the same as the Standard taxi, except that it’s an electric car (light blue).
Deluxe Taxi
In Korea, it’s called a model taxi, So it’s more expensive than a standard taxi.

How to catch a taxi In Korea
At the moment, Uber is only available in Seoul, so if you’re not in Seoul, I’d recommend catching a taxi on the street or taking a taxi through other applications.
Catching a taxi on the road
You can catch a taxi on a busy road, but it’s not really recommended because you might not be able to communicate well.
Kakao Taxi
Kakao Taxi is the most popular taxi service in Korea, and you can get a taxi anywhere. However, the policy has recently changed and it is difficult to use it unless you have a Korean number or a Korean card, so it seems that it is difficult to recommend it at this time. So if you have a Korean number and card, it is the easiest to get a taxi, so I recommend it in that case.
This article introduces how to sign up for KakaoTalk.

i.M Taxi
I.M Taxi is a taxi app for international visitors and is a recent application. It is gradually increasing the available regions, but currently it is available in Seoul.
If you want to use a taxi in Seoul, I recommend i.M Taxi and Uber for now.
Uber
Uber is also available in Korea.
However, Uber is only available in Seoul, so it is difficult to use it except Seoul.
Using International taxi to go to Seoul from Incheon
For international visitors who arrive at Incheon Airport with a lot of luggage or are unfamiliar with the complex transportation system, Seoul officially offers the International Taxi service.
