Gangneung Danoje Festival
The Gangneung Danoje Festival is a vibrant celebration of Korea's rich cultural heritage, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. From June 15 to June 22, 2026, the festival transforms the Namdaecheon Event Area into a lively hub of traditional rituals, music, and community engagement, drawing over 500,000 visitors eager to experience its unique atmosphere.
This year's theme, 'Healing,' emphasizes letting go of daily worries and fostering connections among people. The festival features 71 diverse programs across 13 categories, including the Yeongsin Ritual & Parade on June 17 and the Dano Ritual from June 18-22. Enjoy various performances, including the Gwanno Mask Dance, and don't miss the spectacular fireworks on June 15 and June 22.
